breakfast from a donut place downtown...delicious
Josh and Macey and I went to the pool to swim and later Josh and I went back to throw the football around...other kids came and went and joined in the game, dropped out of the game...it was fun.
mom-imposed selfie in the Schomburg hotel elevator. Daniel looks about as pleased as he did during any part of the trip. He was on the fence about going at all and at the last minute we decided he would go with. He bore it for the most part but it would be an exaggeration to say he "grinned and bore" it because the grins were few and far between. He's kind of sort of an angsty teenager...when did that happen???
We had intended to go up into the Willis Tower and see the views from on high but there was not a single minute while we were in Chicago when the weather was cooperative. Overall it was a dreary, gross couple of days to be on "vacation". This picture taken from our car shows that the clouds were so low, you could not even see halfway up the tall buildings there was no visibility from up high at all. It was hard to even call it overcast or foggy..there were literally clouds in the city dripping rain and wet the whole time. It did not "dampen" our mood, but did limit some of our activities.
At the pizza place downtown for dinner. We got there right before the rush which was good. We did not end up getting traditional chicago style pizza though because even if we did not have to wait for our seats, it was going to be an hour for them to cook the pizza. Who knew?
