Glad Christmas

We hosted the Glad Christmas this year ... we had WAY too much food, a couple of fun games compliments of Irene and a good time hanging with the family and celebrating the season!
Irene brought Hawaiian shirts back for Jason and Dave...

Howard made all the kids homemade cards...

white elephant gifts included Hanukkah socks (with a cat wearing ear muffs) and two (yes sir, 2!!) bobble head Jesse Ventura dolls.  Yes, we Glads can come up with some excellent junk we want to get rid of...

Leo was a little upset that Lanny had to take a timeout during dinner...he kept inching closer and closer and finally had his poor paws under the door to Lanny's crate..."Let my people go!!"

Ben enjoyed his ghost of Christmas past gifts...
at the end of the night Miss Joan found a cozy spot by the tree...
we tried to get all three dog cousins in the same picture but did not really have any luck...best we could do...  Miss Joan made herself right at home, alternately sneaking down to the basement to Daniel's room and up the stairs to get away from all of the commotion...we only had to send out a search party for her once or twice...
 Ben (16), Macey (15), Maggie (13), Jack (17), Josh (10), Daniel (17), Joan (approx. 6-7)

Christmas 2019

I think when your 10 year old cries for joy over his Santa gift maybe he's having a good Christmas...

and maybe when your 15 and 17 year olds get AP test flash cards for Christmas things maybe are starting to take a turn for the worse...

 stockings for all...

look at Lanny's tongue...so funny he is!!
the dogs seemed pretty happy with their Santa gifts

Escape Room

This year instead of doing a gift exchange amongst the cousins we did a BurnsvilleGladLakevilleGlad Escape Room.  We drew straws for teams and on the surface it seemed a bit lopsided...however, in the final analysis "Team A" came out on bottom and the "B" team, well, we finished our room and won the night!  Maggie wants a rematch...  I thought this was a lot of fun and I'd totally be up for a repeat next year!  Way better than presents!!

December Band Concert

Its awesome when their bands play in the same concert...Daniel in Wind Ensemble (below), Macey in Concert Band (above)

Daniel does have some fun every now and then...

 Aren't they perfect???

Misc December 2019

Macey heads into an indoor soccer game...I played indoor too, though naturally there are no pictures of that...
Leo tripped me on the steps and I broke my Nook...trashed completely.  Had to wait until Santa brought me a new one for Christmas...
 Josh shoots ... Josh scores!!

Jason watched Josh take his shot!
Julie invited us to her house for what is becoming an annual holiday dinner and Josh, Macey and I had a good time.  Josh said "I liked that" which I consider high praise!  Julie sent a goodie bag home for Daniel (who had worked all day and could not make the party) and he must have enjoyed it because he left the dregs all over the couch for "someone" to clean up the next morning...
Ah, just another beautiful December day in Minnesota...  NOT.
Josh went to spotlight night at the high school and took his turns shooting on the courts and cheering for the high school buys.
The plant Janet gave me sprouted little baby plants...yeah!
Joshua...  yup, that's my boy.
