Car

Good-bye old friend I will miss you!!

The Pilot was officially donated to the Dakota County Technical College for use in their mechanic program this week. It will continue to do good in the world! You were my travel companion for almost 15 years (14 years and 9 months) and we logged close to 300k miles (last official tally was 297,600) together..This car was a delight-in all the time I owned it it never ran out of gas, never broke down and stranded me somewhere, never once disappointed me. The dvd player, cd player, radio and yes, tape deck, still work great. Air, heat, windows and sunroof never failed. Best car ever!!!

I got my "new" Honda, a 2016 CRV. Proceeded to leave it out in the rain with the sunroof open. Figures.

House

we took out the bushes in front and trimmed the tree up to 15 feet-looks like a whole different house! We love it!

before picture...the bushes are as high as the light post (higher in the middle) and the tree branches touch the ground and block the entire view of half of the house.

after-wow! we actually have a whole house! and a porch! and a yard!
The yard will need some help next summer recovering from all of the shade that has been blocking the sunlight for years and we have a grand plan for the space under the porch railings...should be fun to lay this out and finish it off next summer!

Last week Macey won a fierce battle against a worthy opponent...it started before 4 and ended at 6:05. These girls were very evenly matched. It was brutal hot but they duked it out. Tennis is as much a mental as a physical game and by the end of the first set it was apparent that whoever stuck it out was going to win-Macey never let down and never gave up. It was a sight to see.
