Nothin' much
Not much to report here...Christmas is coming and we have decorated most of the house. Jason is still pondering what to do to the outside so we are the one house in our neighborhood with no outdoor lights up yet. Oh well.
6 weeks until Baby...seems both too soon and too far away. M is still gunning for a girl, she seems to think if she gets a sister some day she will be able to have bunkbeds. Its very cute. M has her Christmas program at preschool next week and she has been practicing her songs. Some of them she wants to keep "secret" and won't sing out loud and some she wants to share with everyone. M also discovered a Dixie Chicks CD with "taking the long way round" on it and she has fallen in love with that song. She'll walk around unconsiously singing it quietly and its a bit disconcerting to catch her at is since she knows all the words and sings it in tune, and yet she is so little! She also moved into a booster seat this month (out of the car seat, since she reached the magical 40 pound mark) and is loving it. Its so funny what simple pleasures they get out of life!
D is doing great. We had our first battle over homework last night when he did not want to do his math homework. Usually you say homework and he comes running; he loves to do the worksheets and the projects that the teacher sends home. Last night he was just in a mood and there you are...I supposed it was inevitable. In any case, it took him all of 15 minutes to complete the entire assignment, and then we made paper airplanes, so I think he survived. He is reading better every day and has mastered all of the baby's books that we have out in the baby's bookcase...hand him "But Not the Hippopotomus" or "Goodnight Moon" and he cruises right through. He likes to read to the baby and He also read "Are you My Mother" cover to cover to me the other night, so we are not restricting him to little board books! He's still enjoying school. J went to school with him last Friday for Parent Involvement Day and they had a blast. J was not all that appreciative of the little tiny peices he had to glue onto some of the crafts that they did (funny visual, I think) but he survived, and the craft was adorable.
