Josh & Jason ... Basketball Fall 2019

first game of the 19/20 bball season!

Coach Jason talking to the kids...what a great coach he is!!

Indoor Marching Band Concert

Hands down my favorite concert of the year.
started out with tailgates...followed by tunes...Macey worked the Body Painting table where Josh got a football and a pig...

In addition to the regular music they played the armed forces medley that they will play in Hawaii with the Marine Corp Band...and the veterans were asked to stand when their music came on...Howard stood proud during the Navy tune!  It was very moving.

This was a big day for Daniel, one of those "thank goodness I'm not a kid anymore days"...ACT in the morning, band concert in the afternoon, work shift at Chipotle in the evening...

Halloween 2019

 kids carved pumpkins
I helped in Josh's class for the Harvest Party (aka, Halloween Party)

Jason took Josh shopping and they came home with the most awesome dinosaur costume...

Macey and Mia handed out candy and huddled around the Kubly's firepit...I might have joined them for much of the evening with a bottle of wine...
spooky house all decorated with lights and ghouls

Ami and Abby all decked out... Josh and his friends never did make it around to our house...it was a difficult Halloween for Josh he went with some friends but his costume made running difficult and he was sort of left behind...not so fun for the little guy...lessons learned.

Chef's Dinner with Julie D.

Fun night out with the ladies to enjoy a "chef's dinner" compliments of Julie and Nancy!  So fun!

John sent me these pictures of Macey and Charlotte from the Chili Pepper days-so fun!

Just stuff on us Summer and Fall 2019

tried some new plants in the front garden this year...they did great

tried to move all of the asiatic lilies that were either under the leaves of other plants or stuck in places no one could see to the front garden where they would have a chance to grow and spread and bloom better...we'll see how that goes!  I have split them before with pretty good results, it will be interesting to see where I planted them because I don't really remember...
weird tomato crop this year...had one or two tomatos off the plants all summer so had a pretty steady supply for tomato sandwiches, but never had a bunch at one time and never really had a big crop...hard to say which is better, a lot at one time or one or two at a time all summer?  Would like to figure out how to have both, seems like it should be possible...  also had a decent crop of green beans, plenty of rhubarb, one nice batch of sweet potatos (even though I did not expect to have any...the sweet potato plants languished in their containers out front for weeks and were mostly dead by the time I planted them...I was lucky to get any)...and a FANTASTIC crop of carrots which we were still eating on December 1.

80's day at school for Macey...funny her mom was able to come up with a shirt that was actually from 1990 (I know I got this for Christmas my freshman year of college)...so maybe not 80s but so very, very close...
 dog days at the Glads
Janet gave me two plants...per a sign I came upon at Bachmans they are "pilea pepermiodes"
Josh has friends in and out of the house all the time

one of my fall "to do" lists...
