The newest member of our family.
In school last month, Macey wrote an Autobiographical Poem:
Autobiographical Poem
by Macey Erynne Glad
Sweet, beautiful, reader
Sister of Daniel and Josh
Who loves soccer, animals and Mrs. Mohr
Who feels sad about leaving Mrs. Mohr
Who needs friends, Mrs. Mohr, and pets
Who gives love, encouragement and friendship
Who fears tornados, hurricanes and guns
Who'd like to see Hollywood
Who dreams of a Guinea Pig pet
A student of Mrs. Mohr
Boo Bird Sweets
Now, this is a lovely poem any way you look at it. And , you can tell that Macey LOVES her teacher. We loved her teacher too, until she sent the following note home in the wake of reading Macey's poem:
FREE Guinea Pig! Call me if you are interested. Mrs. Mohr. 555 555 5555.
Turns out, her girls are about 3-4 years older than Macey and they had outgrown their Guinea Pig and were looking for a new home for him. It was a custom made situation-for Macey. For Macey's parent, well, we caved. So far, so good. He's a sweet little guy and Macey takes care of him all by herself. I have helped with occasional cage cleaning and today we gave him a bath. We've also made a couple of runs to the pet store but overall, we're pleased. Jason has even taken to the little booger. He feeds him fresh veggies at night and has declared him to be "kinda cute". Mrs. Mohr is back in our good graces.
