Well, we will come to find that the fire detectors at the rental house are very, VERY sensitive. Our first hint was when Daniel set off the fire alarms by...wait for it...turning on the shower to warm up and the steam set off the alarm. Which the owner had linked to an alert with the Farmington Fire Department. Who showed up right in time...they walk around the house, advised us to check the status of the batteries including running up to the County Fair where there were giving away free batteries, and then went on their way. There was a slightly amusing exchange with the owner of the house and a request to NOT be connected to the first department, thank you very much. Good thing too because we set that darn thing off ALL THE TIME. Only real fire was when the marshmallows on top of the Thanksgiving sweet potatoes caught on fire...
