Beach 2020...Comin' and Goin'

We arrived Friday afternoon and met Carey and Maddie for a night in a delightful little cabin.  It was the perfect pre-beach hangout.  On Saturday the big kids slept in and Josh and I went to the pool,  We swam for 3 hours and made some friends with the kids who were there...Josh and the boys played football and catch, I made friends with a kid who wanted to dive for our diving rings...good time was had by all. The cabin had Netflix (go figure) and we continued the oldie but goodie movie viewing by watching Harrison Ford in Air Force One demonstrate what a president SHOULD be like...ah, the good ole days.

July 4th

 July 4th was a little different this year...due to Covid19, the City of Lakeville moved the fireworks from their traditional location to a new location to discourage crowds from gathering.  We could still see them (sort of) from our driveway but not really...so Josh talked me into buying our own fireworks!  The folks at the parking lot store were less than helpful (meaning, they literally could not help at all so who knows what we ended up actually buying) but we had a lot of fun setting them off out front.  Pictures are not great...memories will be though!

And the ENORMOUS hominy can that our can opener could not even manage...

Summer 2020 Misc

Josh did a Cars marathon on Disney+ and then requested Grandpa's Cars collection to play with...good times were had by Josh!

lots of walks this summer...the Work Week Hustle goes on...Carey continues to dominate with Cindy, Maddie and Uncle Booper making occasion appearances at the top of the order...

the summer schedule has this guy and his puppy worn the heck out some days

Kevin Bacon's Footloose made it onto the Sibling's Movie Night selection list

Macey continues to get in her driving minutes towards her license requirements...

Lanny hangs out with Mom as moves toward her last days at Ditech...

we took an outing to Ikea to get Josh a desk for his room

the desk was a success!!  shelves were procured also ...

Josh's biggest fan retired and will be moving to Charlotte...Gary came over for a last supper and a smoke with Jason before he headed south...

Jason spends a little time on the golf course every summer...he's going to miss Gary H.!!!

Garden 2020...just getting started...

After a year and a half of free reign, Leo was trained on the electric fence during Quarantine.  We had one incident with the neighbor's dog where the leash slipped from Macey's hand and he ran the fence, got into it with Monty (who really, no one should be dumb enough to mess with) and we ended up at the Emergency Vet with a sliced ear and a minor cut under his chin.  All's well that ends well and Leo never ran THAT electric fence again.  

Leo knows how to make himself comfortable.

but Leo doesn't really NEED sun to sleep...just a comfy (sort of) place to rest his weary head...

Leo HATES to be left out...he will sit by the door and give you sad eyes until you let him join you...

they love to be downstairs when I am working just keeping me company...

Rabbits ...ah, too cute to hate, too annoying to love...

yes, they ate my poor helipolis down to the nub...I had to put a fence up around them to protect them from the rabbits...annoying, since I transplanted these here purposefully to have some flowers outside of the garden fence...best laid plans and all that...
