Christmas in Maryland
We drove out to Maryland and spent the week of Christmas with the Jefferson family at Kim and Jeff's house. Everyone had a good time. It was one of those really laid back, really relaxing trips (well, except for the fact that I worked alot of the time we were there...we'll just ignore that little factoid). From the time we got there Sunday morning until we left the following Saturday Daniel did not leave the house...he just hung out and had fun with his cousins. Macey got dragged to the mall one day to go shopping for new jeans and shirts and while it was a successful trip (we love Gap kids!!!) she was pretty ornery about missing an hour of the fun. Otherwise, she did not leave the house either. Josh and I accompanied my mom down to Kilmarnock to visit Grandmom's house and to see my Dad's gravestone. I had not seen the stone yet and it is really nice. Pictures to come.
In the Workshop with Grandpa
Daniel had a project at school. He was to come up with an invention to help him with a problem he was having and then build the invention. Daniel has these sneakers with ridges on the soles; he decided to invent a shoe cleaner that would take the dirt out of the ridges. He came up with the design, we went to HomeDepot and bought all the parts, and then he and Howard put it together in Howard's workshop. It was fun for everyone. And, his teacher and class loved it!
Miscellaneous
OK, so my last two months have been a little out of control. I have been working 12-15 hour days everyday and have had only 2 days off at all since New Years. Hopefully, the worst is behind me. In the meantime, I have been very slack in keeping up with the blog. So, I am going to try and do a picture dump. I am not going to even attempt to put these things in order, only try to get them all in so I can "wrap up" 2012 and move on to 2013. Just before Christmas I order our blog-to-print books for 2011 and 2010 and they are really great...to heck with scrapbooking (which, honestly, I never thought much of anyway...its just not my thing) but these blog books are pretty cool! Anyway, from here until the "end of 2012", just enjoy.
