All by myself!

Bath Time

Shoes

In the interest of full disclosure I will tell you upfront that this is a story that may only appeal to the mom in me and not to anyone else, but since its my blog I get to do whatever I want! Jason was having the kids help clean up before Carey, Stephen and Madeline arrived. He asked them to gather all the shoes and put them in the back hall closet, a typical task for the children. We all come and go from the front door, the back door and the garage door and sometimes there are shoes by every door and also other places in the house. With 5 shod people in the house we are constantly fightly the battle of the misplaced shoes...one of many battles going on at any given time in our house, but that is an issue for a different day. Anyway, instead of just cleaning the kids redirected their energy to a different task. Seeing how they were engaged in this task, Jason let them carry on , the end result being that everyones' shoes were lined up in a different part of the back hall with labels on each shoe indicating use and/or degree of attachment to the particular shoe. Favorites of mine included Josh's sandals that he had until today refused to wear (today I tried with socks and that seemed to work out okay) that were labeled "Take These Back" and Daniel's boots that I bought him about 2 years ago and he wore once and refused to ever wear again...also all the "special occasion" labels on M's shoes. Anyway, here they are...enjoy or not according to the dictates of your own taste.

Just Us

FLOCKED!

Not as in "fake Locked" from Lost, but flocked as in a flock of pink flamingos showed up in our yard one morning. The kids got a kick out of it and we got to return the favor by "flocking" two of M's preschool teachers the next night. I got a kick out of teaching them how to wear black, park down the street, avoid lights and quietly put the flamingos out...there was some foreshadowing to when they are 15 and want to TP someone's house, but we won't worry about that for now...
