July 4th in DC

Disappointing in that we could not see a single firework.  It was rainy and gross the entire time we were out in DC.  It cleared up (as in, not raining) just in time for the concert but the clouds never left and while they did the fire works all we could see were the clouds turning colors, there was no actual firework to be seen.  On tv, they showed fireworks and when we got back to the hotel and were looking at the tv in the bar I was like "what angle were those tv cameras at that they were able to see the fireworks???"  turns out, none.  They shows prior year fireworks.  If we had only known at the time, it was a precursor to how the media would portray a variety of things all the way up until the election in November...but that's a story for a different day.
