Miscellaneous Stuff on Us for 2014

In 2014 Macey continued at Oak Hills in the Ignite program.  Daniel started middle school and got his first dose of "hard school" in the form of sixth grade pre-algebra.  Josh started kindergarten with all that that entails.  Everyone is doing great-so proud of these kids for working so hard.  In the spring I received a much deserved promotion to VP...no where to go from here career-wise!

In 2014 we played a number of sports...and I say "we" because while it might be one of the kids on the field, it takes the family to get them their with water bottle and correct uniform (the sheer variety of shoes my kids have baffles me...soccer cleats, baseball cleats, football cleats, dance shoes, tap shoes, basketball hightops, winter boots...we need a shoe organization lesson some days around here), siblings are often required to go along to watch practices (special shout out to Josh, who has sat through more than his fair share of soccer, baseball and football games) and cheer for games and let's face it, parents are invested with the amount of money we spend on fees, gas and snacks and time we spent delivering, picking up, watching, waiting and encouraging...between winter, spring, summer and fall sessions we played: Macey- 2 traveling soccer seasons (I coached one), Josh- two in house soccer seasons (I coached both) Macey- competition dance kickline, Macey-basketball (I managed the team for 2014/2015), Daniel-traveling baseball, Daniel passing league football, Daniel MASH fall baseball, Daniel-in house tackle football (Jason helped coach).  Add in untold numbers of training sessions, practices, tryouts, recitals, tournaments, competitions, the time-sucking occasional politics, etc. and you have a full schedule...forgetting that the parents also have full-time jobs and the kids go to school.  Sometimes it can be overwhelming but its also fun to watch the kids develop skills, make friends and enjoy themselves.

While I don't have any pictures of these things because I was not along for most of it, Jason also spent a significant amount of time this year as the Treasurer for the Lake Marion PTO (a recurring role (3 or 4 years now?) which sometimes seems like a part-time job in itself), teaching a weekly math class for Macey's Ignite class, refereeing football (high school and jv) and being a Head Election judge, along with continuing to work on the WTL business on a fulltime basis, doing carpool for Macey and just being an all around good dad.  In 2014 Jason went to Las Vegas in the spring for fun and for work, to Maine and Miami for work, to Seattle to watch the Seahawks in the playoffs last January from whence he returned with a big blue 12th Man banner which is hanging in our sunroom and when Steven Ryan came up for a long weekend, he took him up north to a friends' cabin for a guys weekend away.  So a fun year for Jason too.
