When Santa brought the train table to Daniel the year he was two it seemed like an extravagent acquisition. However, when he proceeded to play with it every single day for the next year I realized some things (ie, the train table in this case) can exceed even very high expectations. Now Josh is even more obsessed with trains than Daniel was. He comes home from wherever he goes and heads straight to the trains. We have to convince him to leave the table and come eat dinner. He takes trains with him everywhere he goes. He loves to watch Thomas the Train shows on tv and he loves to read the Thomas the Train books. If he can't convince anyone to read them to him, he will read them outloud to himself. He knows all the names of the trains and he acts out the stories from his books when he is playing with the trains. Daniel still likes to get in on the train table fun sometimes and we all take turns building new track layouts for Josh.
